Programs That Change Lives.
Three core pillars — mentoring, crime prevention, and education — working together to redirect young lives toward purpose and possibility.
Program 01
Youth Mentoring
Every young person deserves someone in their corner.
Our mentoring program pairs young people with trained, caring adult mentors who provide consistent guidance, encouragement, and accountability. Whether one-on-one or in small groups, our mentors show up — week after week — to walk alongside youth through the challenges of growing up.
- One-on-one and group mentoring sessions
- Trained and background-checked mentors
- Life skills, goal-setting, and career exploration
- Available across DC, Maryland, and Atlanta
Program 02
Crime Prevention
Safer communities start with empowered youth.
Misplaced Foundation addresses the root causes of crime by engaging at-risk youth before they enter the justice system. Through community outreach, conflict resolution training, and partnerships with local law enforcement and organizations, we create pathways away from violence and toward opportunity.
- Community outreach and street-level engagement
- Conflict resolution and de-escalation training
- Partnerships with law enforcement and community orgs
- Intervention programs for at-risk youth
Program 03
Stay in School
Education is the most powerful tool we can give.
Dropping out is rarely a decision — it's a symptom. Our Stay in School program tackles the real barriers keeping young people from graduating: lack of support, academic struggles, and feeling like school doesn't matter. We provide tutoring, mentoring, and motivational programming to keep students engaged and on track.
- Academic tutoring and homework support
- School re-engagement for at-risk students
- College and career readiness workshops
- 85% school retention rate among participants
Program 04
Athletic Clinics
Opening doors through sport — one scholarship at a time.
Division I universities in our own backyard — American, Catholic, and Georgetown — employ nearly 100 athletic faculty and offer full scholarships in sports like field hockey, lacrosse, volleyball, and rowing. Most of our youth have never been exposed to these opportunities. Our Athletic Clinics program changes that, connecting young people directly with university coaches, athletes, and mentors who can open doors that would otherwise stay closed.
- Clinics and practices led by Division I university coaches
- Exposure to field hockey, lacrosse, volleyball, and rowing
- Partnerships with American, Catholic, and Georgetown University
- Pathway to full athletic scholarships for qualifying youth
